Boris Johnson has suggested that the Iran nuclear deal secured by President Obama is defunct and called on President Trump to negotiate a new one. The United States walked away from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018 and has urged Britain to follow suit. “Somehow or other we’ve got to stop Iranians acquiring a nuclear weapon, that’s what the JCPOA does,” Mr Johnson told the BBC in his first interview of 2020.
