Wellington traffic is at a virtual standstill after a slip on State Highway 2 out of the city. Both northbound lanes on State Highway 2 have reopened and congestion is expected to ease after a slip caused major delays for rush-hour commuters on Monday and a back-up of traffic between Lower Hutt and Wellington. An earlier slip closed both lanes between the Ngauranga interchange and Petone offramp, but they had reopened by 7pm.
