A similar run for Aquaman (presuming a $65m debut weekend) would give the James Wan flick a $330m domestic cume. Walt Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns is more than willing to lose the battle in order to win the war. If none of these three holiday giants break out exceptionally huge, then we could see a scenario ($225m for Aquaman, $125m for Bumblebee and $265m for Mary Poppins Returns) where all three of them earn less than $620m combined. Yes, all three of those movies could earn more or less than those spitball projections (Mary Poppins or Aquaman could hit Lord of the Rings numbers). But even a $350 million finish for Mary Poppins Returns, a $250m finish for Aquaman and a $150m finish for Bumblebee would still put it below the singular domestic total of Avatar ($750m not counting the reissue).
