Leon Hoyle fell through a corrugated roof panel on the building on the Lune industrial estate, Lancaster, while playing with friends on Monday night, Lancashire police said. His family had been informed and were being supported by specially trained officers. Firefighters from Lancaster and Morecambe responded with an aerial ladder platform and a drone, but the boy could not be saved, Lancashire fire and rescue said. Det Insp Simon Dent, of Lancaster CID, said: “This is a tragic incident which has cost a young man his life and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
