George Russell impressed in his second outing in a Formula One car as the young Briton looks to secure a reserve seat drive with Force India. While the practice timesheets today were led by the world champion Lewis Hamilton, the next British driver on the production line was showing his ability behind the wheel, taking part in the morning session with the Silverstone-based team. The 19-year-old from King’s Lynn also drove in the same practice session last time out in Brazil but this time he finished 11th, one better than his outing in Sao Paulo. Russell was 2.1 seconds off the pace of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, who was quickest in the morning, and within one second of Sergio Pérez in the sister car.
