Brooke Henderson birdies first playoff hole to win her first women’s major golf title at age 18

Playing the 18th hole again as the first playoff hole, Henderson put her second shot to within four feet. Brooke Henderson became the second Canadian to win an LPGA major championship with a birdie on the first playoff hole at the Women’s PGA Championship on Sunday. She won the 1968 Women’s PGA Championship at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Massachusetts. Sandra Post is the only other Canadian to win a women’s major. Henderson, the 18-year-old from Smiths Falls, Ont., shot a final-round 65 to chase down New Zealand’s Lydia Ko, a multiple major winner already at age 19.
