According to Safari, towels placed inside the net, on the goalposts, or near the goal line can influence matches. He cited concerns ranging from distraction of opponents and obstruction of the referee’s view, to possible interference with the ball in critical moments. It can distract opponents, obscure the referee's view of the goal line, or even interfere with the ball in certain situations," he added. Despite public pressure, Morocco’s ball boys will not face punishment.
