CID pursues eight people suspected of stealing fertiliser from Eldoret NCPB

CID officers are pursuing eight people accused of diverting subsidised fertiliser from the National Cereals and Produce Board. The eight include traders said to have colluded with some NCPB staff between March and last month. “We have seized 10,000 bags and we suspect the cartels may have already sold a similar amount,” Lesiyampe said. The government has so far recovered more than 10,000 bags of subsidised fertiliser, which had been stolen from the board by cartels colluding with some staff. Agriculture PS Richard Lesiyampe said the NCPB lost more than 20,000 bags and 22 suspended staff will remain away until investigations are completed.
