CWB issues sea warning for Typhoon MalakasAs the nation inspects the damage caused by the Severe Typhoon Meranti on Thursday, the Central Weather Bureau warned of torrential rains in cities along the northeast coast as Typhoon Malakas veers close. With a radius of 120 kilometers, Typhoon Malakas is sustaining winds of 126 kph with gusts of 162 kph as it moves at 22 kph in a northwesterly direction from Guam. The Central Weather Bureau issued a sea warning at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday and is set to issue land warning by Saturday. According to the weather bureau, Typhoon Malakas may gain strength by the time it makes landfall. However the impact it could bring to the country would not be clear until Friday, the weather bureau said.
