PUTRAJAYA: The Cabinet has agreed to extend assistance to the family of the late Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik in recognition of his contribution to the nation, says Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. The Communications Minister said the government wished to honour the legacy of the former transport minister who passed away recently. "The Cabinet has unanimously and generally recorded our condolences to the family of the late Dr Ling. Describing the former MCA president as one of the country's most dedicated public servants, Fahmi said Dr Ling's tenure in the Cabinet spanned nearly two decades. "Dr Ling served as transport minister for 17 years.
