A California woman swimming off the coast of Maui was bitten by a shark on Thanksgiving and hospitalized after suffering a severe injury to her torso, officials said. A companion spotted a fin in the water and later told officials that a shark bit the woman, according to a statement from Hawaii's Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR).
