A business owner in Canning, N.S., is sounding the alarm about a rise in crime in the area after his shop was broken into earlier this month. Andrew Huntley, owner of the Canning Village Meat Market, said his business is far from the first to be targeted by thieves in Kings County. "We just can't believe the crime right now, it's just so crazy," said Bailey Huntley, Huntley's daughter and office manager of the meat market. Crime on the rise in the Annapolis ValleyEverett MacPherson, Kings County councillor for the Canning area, said crime has been on the rise across the Annapolis Valley over the last year. Neither MacPherson nor Huntley have the answer to their concerns, but they both suggest a higher police presence might help.
