After dispensing with Mauricio Pochettino last month, despite the Argentine having presided over an impressive run of form towards the end of last season, Chelsea’s hierarchy confirmed the arrival of Maresca earlier this week. Maresca won over Chelsea’s key decision makers with his willingness to work within the structure of the club as well as the style of football he employed that helped the Foxes return to the top flight at the first time of asking. ‘My thought is you never know or judge any decision before he’s got the time to work and prove what he’s worth,’ the former Chelsea midfielder told the BBC.
