Albion's lack of strength in depth has been evident on multiple occasions this season. The previous January window was owners Bilkul's first since taking over in 2024 and they mostly used it to look to the future. The Baggies had similar hopes with Bany but niggly injuries have meant he is yet to get up to speed with the Championship. Despite the club's financial situation limiting who they can buy, they are not in a desperate need to sell. There are multiple players out of contract at the end of the season, such as Josh Maja, Karlan Grant, Dike and captain Jed Wallace.
