Chelsea made a Premier League record pre-tax loss of £262.4 million ($349.3 million) for the year ending June 30, 2025, the club said on Wednesday. The previous highest recorded pre-tax loss in the Premier League was the £197.5 million posted by Manchester City for the 2010/11 season. Chelsea said that the losses were due in part to increased operating costs in 2024/25 compared to the previous year. Last month, Chelsea admitted to breaching Premier League rules in relation to some £47.5 million of undisclosed payments made under former owner Roman Abramovich. The Blues were fined £10.75 million and given a suspended one-year transfer ban by the Premier League.
