Terry has left Villa (Picture: Getty Images)John Terry has left Aston Villa after a successful stint at the club to pursue a career in management. Terry, the legendary Chelsea centre-half, arrived at Villa Park as a player in 2017 before returning as an assistant head coach a year later. In that time, Villa won promotion from the Championship to the Premier League, avoided relegation in their first season back in the top-flight before finishing 11th last season. However, Terry – who has been linked with Swansea – confirmed he wants to pursue a managerial role of his own in the near future. Villa boss Smith said: ‘I’m disappointed to lose John as part of my coaching staff but fully understand and respect his decision.
