A number of big U.S. tech companies are moonlighting as part-time real-estate developers. China’s Tencent Holdings Ltd. is trying its hand at urban planning. In Shenzhen, the company wants to build a real-estate development on land the size of Midtown Manhattan. The 21-million-square-foot development will include corporate offices, a school, apartments, sports facilities, parks and retail space, according to the project’s architect, NBBJ.
