China has donated a batch of energy-saving public facilities to Egypt to help the North Africa country’s green transformation and climate adaptation ambitions. It was provided by China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment to help Egypt’s consumption patterns go green. “It shows the firm determination of China and Egypt in promoting green and low-carbon transformation and tackling climate change,” the ambassador said. The 200MW utility-scale solar plant is expected to be operational by early next year. The developer is ACWA Power and the EPC contract will be fulfilled by a consortium of China Power Engineering Consult and Zhejiang Thermal Power, from the China Energy Engineering Company (CEEC) group.
