Barry Callebaut supplies brands such as Nestlé, Unilever and Mondelez and employs 350 staff in BritainBarry Callebaut, the leading industrial chocolate manufacturer, is investing £24 million in its British operations. The company, which supplies brands such as Nestlé, Unilever and Mondelez, is planning to increase capacity at its plant in Banbury, Oxfordshire, by about a quarter as part of a three-year renovation programme. It employs 350 staff in Britain and up to 15 per cent of the one million tonnes of chocolate it produces annually in Europe are made in the country. Richard Terme, general manager of its UK division, said: “The UK is our biggest market in Europe. We want to follow and anticipate the demands of our customers.”The investment was not expected to have a big impact on Barry Callebaut’s staff numbers
