A worker who was erecting a water tank stand died after it collapsed on him in Maralal, Samburu County. The victim Philemon Lantare, 34, died instantly after the stand collapsed as he and his colleagues erected it. Police said a group of workers were drilling a borehole at a school compound and were erecting a metallic stand when the incident happened. According to witnesses, a rope they were using to pull the stand snapped and the stand came down crushing the victim. In Nambale, Busia County, police said they are investigating the death of a 23-year-old man whose body was found in his grandmother’s house.
