Residents in parts of the Northern Territory have been warned not to drink their tap water after flooding at a major dam triggered an urgent health alert. NT Health said a boil water alert had been issued for Greater Darwin, Palmerston and surrounding areas due to the flooding of Darwin River Dam. Power and Water Corporation (PWC), which is dealing with the issue, reiterated the importance of conserving water. 'The Darwin River Dam spillway has been overflowing since the new year due to a heavy wet season,' they said. 'The Darwin River Dam wall has not been impacted by this event.'
