A Metropolitan Magistrate court had sentenced accused Vijai Singh to two years in jail for the robbery. Additional Sessions Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar set aside the convict’s sentence and released him on probation for good conduct on a bond of ₹30,000 with one surety of a like amount. ‘4 kids to take care of’“No doubt the offence is of a serious nature, but the appellant has already undergone incarceration for more than four months. The Judge also directed the convict to pay ₹10,000 as compensation to victim Mohamed Shabaz, who was robbed of his phone and beaten by the convict and his three juvenile friends on September 20, 2007.
