Cops awaiting report from Sri Aman school on poisoned fried noodles case

KUCHING: Police are awaiting a report from a Sri Aman secondary school to assist its probe into the case of a Form One student who was hospitalised after eating fried noodles allegedly poisoned by his classmate. Last week, the victim, 13, was rushed to the Sri Aman Hospital after consuming a container of fried noodles, mixed with roach poison by the suspect. The case took a twist when the suspect’s grandfather lodged a police report claiming his grandson committed the act out of fear of being bullied by the victim. The man, 65, alleged that the victim had extorted money and food from his grandson on a daily basis. "Although there are bullying elements, the main offence here is the action (by the suspect) of lacing the food with poison," he said.
