GEORGE TOWN: The magistrate's court today has rejected police's application to extend the remand order of a DAP assemblyman's former aide, detained over an alleged sexual assault on a college student. The 50-year-old man's two-day remand order, which was granted yesterday, expired today. His lawyer, E. Gnasegaran, told newsmen that they would continue to cooperate with the police. "We told the court that there was no need for our client to be detained for that," he added. Earlier, the man was brought to the magistrate's court about 10.25am, clad in orange lock-up shirt.
