KUALA LUMPUR: Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has given a statement to police after he commented on the death of A. Ganapathy in police custody. "I was told the case was being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Commission Act and Section 503b of the Penal Code. "My mobile phone and Instagram account was also seized by the police on the instructions of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission," he told reporters. He said the video he posted was on urging the government to set up the Independent Police Complaints of Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) after the death of Ganapathy in police custody. "I understand it is still the police responsibility to investigate and I will give them my full cooperation, ” he added.
