Coronavirus rarely gets transmitted from bats to humans, maybe once in 1,000 years: ICMR scientist

While the coronavirus continues to trouble the whole world, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that the coronavirus might have transmitted from bats to humans and it rarely happens. He further added that the bats might have transmitted it to pangolins and from pangolins, it got transmitted to humans. "We also conducted surveillance, in which we found that there are two types of bats, and they carried coronavirus which was not capable of affecting humans. It's rare, maybe once in 1,000 years that it gets transmitted from bats to humans," he said. Earlier reports have suggested that experts were carrying out research on bats in China's Wuhan, where the virus is said to be originated.
