A giant flower with a bouquet of rotting flesh may bloom in Dunedin in the new year. The giant Amorphophallus titanum​, known as the "corpse flower", produces the world's largest flower and famously smells like rotting flesh when it blooms. Bishop said the corpse flower plant could grow 10 centimetres a day, but the flower was expected to last only a few days. The Amorphophallus titanum originates in the rainforests of Sumatra in Indonesia.
