Mohammad Shahid Islam alias Kazi Papul CollectedPapul was arrested in Kuwait in June in cases related to human trafficking, residency visa trading, and money launderingA Dhaka court has ordered to freeze 617 bank accounts of MP Mohammad Shahid Islam alias Kazi Papul, the independent lawmaker from Laxmipur 2 constituency, and three others in a graft case. The others accused is the case are Papul's wife Selina Islam, their daughter Wafa Islam, and Papul's sister-in-law Jesmin Prodhan. Earlier on November 11, the ACC filed a case against the four persons on charges of money laundering and amassing illegal wealth. MP Papul is currently in Kuwait jail. The public prosecutor of Kuwait had approached the Central Bank to freeze his bank accounts.
