THE coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic saw a “massive change in consumer behavior”, according to the top official of an online shopping service. “We saw that essentials, groceries were being purchased on a click of 15x (times) versus a normal pre-Covid. We saw an increase in the use of our wallet, Lazada wallet. Speaking at The Manila Times forum on Digital Transformation: Innovating and Adapting Amid Challenges, Alimurung also reported an increase in Lazada sales. It also reported an estimated number of 100,000 monthly active sellers since the pandemic in March, Alimurung said.
