People living in a number of care homes in Datchet and surrounding areas enjoyed a coffee morning with ‘creative competition’ judged by the Mayor – raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Longstanding funeral directors Lodge Brothers recently expanded into Datchet, with a pledge to ‘serv[e] not only in times of grief but also in fostering unity and support in the community’. Hence, it put on a coffee morning and reached out to local care homes, inviting them to participate. These now adorn the windows of the Lodge Brothers’ Datchet branch for the community to appreciate. Hayley Griffiths, the newly appointed funeral arranger at Lodge Brothers Datchet, attended along with Cressida Lodge, representing the eighth generation of the Lodge family.
