A train derailment on Sunday near the Nicman area on the main line of the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway disrupted traffic and paused services. In a statement Tuesday evening, Rio Tinto, the majority owner of IOC, said it is taking action to clear the tracks and resume rail traffic. The Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway is a private Canadian regional railway that connects Labrador City with Quebec. Tshiuetin Transportation Inc., which operates a passenger train service on the train line, also cancelled its runs for the time being.
