Chattogram celebrates 56th Independence Day with tributes, parades, rallies, and programs honoring national heroes. Besides officials programs by district administration, Chattogram City Corporation, different political parties and socio-cultural organizations have organized elaborate programs matching with the gravity and importance of the day. The day’s programs heralded with 31-gunshots at the dawn at central Liberation War memorial at Kattalo in the city. On the occasion of Independence Day, Chattogram city BNP paid tribute to the martyrs by laying wreaths at the Biplob Udyan Memorial at 11 am. State Minister for Land and Hill Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin and Abu Sufian, MP, spoke at the rally.
