Labour and Employment Secretary KM Abdus Salam unveiled the publication titled ‘Guideline on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) to Prevent and Mitigate Covid-19 in the Workplace' at ShromoBhaban in the capital, said a press release. Industries Secretary KM Ali Azam, Deputy Inspector General (Safety) of at the DIFE Md Kamrul Hasan and other senior officials were present, among others, in the event. KM Abdus Salam said that they formulated the guideline following the directives of Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina. The Covid-19 OSH guideline was approved by the National Council for Industry, Health and Safety on 9 June, 2020, the release reads, adding that the recommendation of the National Council and six additional appendices were included thereafter to enrich the document. The International Labour Organization (ILO) provided technical assistance in preparing the Covid-19 OSH guideline, it mentioned.
