Photo: Darren Woolley--Dagenham & Redbridge have provided an update on their striker Inih Effiong after he collapsed on the pitch following the Daggers’ 1-0 defeat at Maidenhead United this afternoon (Saturday). The medical emergency occurred in the aftermath of the final whistle at York Road, as Maidenhead’s players celebrated the 1-0 win given to them by Reece Smith’s 58th minute strike. It read: “Following the final whistle today, Inih Effiong was treated on the pitch by the physios and medical staff. “At this moment in time we would like to request privacy for Inih and his family.”Following the final whistle, Maidenhead United’s assistant manager Ryan Peters said: “All football related matters get put to one side.
