A deadlocked jury has led to a mistrial in the South Florida trial of rapper YNW Melly, who was charged with the murder of two of his friends five years ago. Broward County prosecutors, who had sought the death penalty, are expected to retry the case with a new jury. Prosecutors’ Allegations and Defense’s ArgumentProsecutors claimed that YNW Melly, whose legal name is Jamell Demons, shot Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr. while they were all inside a Jeep. Williams and Thomas were members of the YNW collective, also known as YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy, respectively. They also pointed out that YNW Melly had no apparent motive for the crime.
