Demeke Mekonnen Elected Chair of ADP, Gedu Andargachew Deputy ChairOctober 2, 2018 - The Amhara Democratic Party (ADP) has re-elected Demeke Mekonnen and Gedu Andargachew as its Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson, respectively, according to FBC report. There has been previous reports indicating that there was movement within the central committe of the ADP to oust Demeke Mekonnen from leadership of ADP. Uncharacteristically, Demeke Mekonnen has been on news circuits of late defending himself against charges that he gave away Ethiopian land to Sudan. The ADP has elected the following officials as Executive Committee members of ADP/EPRDF: Demeke Mekonnen, Gedu Andargachew, Dr Ambachew Mekonnen, Binalf Andualem, Tefera Deribew, Dr Yinager Desie, Melaku Alebel, Dagmawit Moges, and Migbaru Kebede. Speaking at the ADP congress, Demeke said, the Amhara Democratic Party (ADP) is ready to properly play its leadership role at regional and national levels.
