DepEd closes central office for disinfection, contact tracing


MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) announced it is closing its central office in Pasig City starting Wednesday, August 19, until Sunday, August 23. The two suspected cases were exposed to the Deped personnel who died and are symptomatic. “Financial obligations, salaries and benefits of all DepEd teaching and non-teaching personnel are already being processed, and shall be promptly paid,” DepEd said. During the lockdown, all personnel are expected to be on a work from home arrangement while the Deped Central office Clinic continues to remotely trace Covid-19 cases. ADVERTISEMENTEarlier, DepEd said its employees who reported for work in areas under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) or modified ECQ are entitled to a P500 daily hazard pay.
