(File photo)The director of New Plymouth's renowned Govett-Brewster Gallery and Len Lye Centre has resigned two months before an entrance fee for visitors is introduced. Simon Rees was appointed to the role in 2014 and oversaw the opening of the controversial $11.5 million Len Lye Centre in 2015. Robert Charles Simon Rees was appointed as the director of the Govett Brewster Art Gallery and Len Lye Centre in 2014. "Simon brought a lot of international experience, not only to the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery but also to the Len Lye Centre."
