The future of a community-based craft hub has almost been secured after a herculean effort through the course of the year moved supporters to within touching distance of buying the building. The Save Our Story project, which aims to raise £250,000 to purchase the home of designermakers21 in Diss and a further £100,000 to fund repairs, began in February. Marco Rayment, treasurer and trustee of designermakersCIO, said: “The exciting news is that we are now only £22,000 short of our target. “Once we have raised half of the purchase price in donations and pledges, the Department for Levelling Up will release the same from the Community Ownership Fund, enabling us to purchase the building. “We need £22,000 to achieve our first target and we are working harder than ever to achieve this and complete the purchase.
