THE Department of Justice (DoJ) has taken custody of the whistleblower in the controversial “pastillas” scam perpetrated by immigration officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said on Friday that Sen. RisaHontiveros made the request for Immigration Officer 1 Allison Chiong. He said that Chiong would be placed under the DoJ’s Witness Protection Program if he would qualify. “He (Chiong) will be evaluated thoroughly by the WPP before he could be considered for full coverage,” said Guevarra.
