Doubling of motorcycle deaths in B.C. alarms safety officials


The first seven months of 2018 have seen 30 deaths from motorcycle incidents so far; by comparison, the same period last year saw 14. Out of 30 victims of motorcycle crashes so far this year, 27 were male and three were female. That was consistent with past numbers: 91 per cent of the deaths from January 2008 to July 2018 were male. Deaths are traditionally concentrated in the summer months; 55 per cent of the deaths between 2008 and 2017 have occurred between June and August.
