RCMP officers in Lower Sackville and Cole Harbour, N.S., posed as panhandlers to catch drivers who were committing traffic offences this week. The officer at the intersection refused to take donations from drivers and informed those drivers that they were a police officer. The operations took place at the intersections of Glendale Drive and Cobequid Road in Lower Sackville and Cole Harbour Road and Cumberland Drive in Cole Harbour. Corp. Mandy Edwards, an RCMP spokesperson who was not involved in the operation, said it is a lot of tickets for one traffic operation. “Twelve tickets for failing to wear a seatbelt, that seems quite high in my opinion,” she said.
