Appiah, who has previously handled the national team in two separate stints, has emerged as one of the frontrunners for the vacant role. Other high-profile names reportedly under consideration include former Germany coach Joachim Löw, who led his country to World Cup glory in 2014, and experienced South African tactician Pitso Mosimane. However, speaking in an interview with Graphic Sports, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe expressed strong reservations about the prospect of Appiah’s return, stressing that circumstances surrounding his previous tenure should rule out any comeback. Ghana has been drawn in Group L for the World Cup, where they will face Panama, England, and Croatia.
