MANILA: President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday welcomed Indonesian President Joko Widodo in Malacañang for a bilateral meeting ahead of the 30th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit and Related Meetings. The Palace said the bilateral meeting between Duterte and Widodo will be an opportunity for the two leaders to continue discussions that started during the President’s state visit to Indonesia in September 2016. The MOU on Agricultural Cooperation aims to strengthen the development of both countries’ agricultural sectors through cooperation on agricultural research, mutual consultation and assistance. After the bilateral meeting, the two leaders will meet the press for a joint statement. On Thursday, President Duterte also hosted Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzadin Waddaulah in Malacañang for a bilateral meeting.
