The intention of DSCC’s recent drive is to remove illegal overhead cable connections, which would have been reasonable enough if there were alternatives for internet service providers. As a result, large parts of the capital have been left without internet. When asked what people will do about the internet in the meantime, an officer within the DSCC went so far as to suggest “mobile internet packages are cheap these days.” This suggestion borders on the farcical. Mobile internet has also been known to be unreliable at times, and while useful when on the go, is not a realistic way to meet daily home internet needs.
