Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar called for stronger international cooperation to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR), stressing that the challenge demands integrated action across health, environmental, and agricultural sectors. He noted that Egypt has adopted this approach through multi-sector strategies, including a national One Health strategy (2023–2027) designed to strengthen institutional coordination and tackle shared health threats. The minister highlighted Egypt’s national action plan on AMR, aligned with the World Health Organization’s global strategy, which includes workforce training programs and enhanced surveillance systems. He emphasized that innovation and multi-stakeholder partnerships are essential to building resilient health systems, urging collaboration among governments, academia, civil society, and youth. He concluded by stressing that complex health challenges require sustained investment in prevention and preparedness, alongside stronger regional and global cooperation.
