EgyptAir has suspended all flights to 13 cities across the Middle East until further notice, following the launch of “major combat operations” by the United States and Israel against targets in Iran. US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the United States had commenced air and sea strikes against the Islamic Republic, hitting targets across the country, including the capital, Tehran. Ahmed Adel, Chairperson and Executive Managing Director of EgyptAir Holding Company, is currently monitoring the regional situation from the crisis room at the Integrated Operations Centre (IOCC). EgyptAir stated it is maintaining full coordination with Cairo International Airport authorities and the airline’s external stations to monitor flight operations as the situation evolves. EgyptAir added that it would resume operations to the affected destinations as soon as the regional situation stabilises and air navigation returns to normal.
