Press PhotoCAIRO – 16 January 2022: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry received Sunday his Alegrian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra in Cairo discussing bilateral ties, and regional developments of mutual interest. Minister Shokry asserted the importance of backing a Libyan-Libyan solution to the current crisis, and working on bringing an end to foreign interference with Libyan affairs, including the deportation of foreign mercenaries and the withdrawal of foreign forces. Both ministers also tackled the updates pertinent Sudan, Mali, and Sahel countries, as they conferred over peacekeeping matters. Shokry and Lamamra stressed the necessity of intensifying coordination over peace, security and prosperity efforts on the African level in light of the different security challenges facing the region.
