Eleven bikers held for causing a ruckus on New Year’s eve


more-inAs many as 11 bikers, including a juvenile, were apprehended by the Anna Salai police for driving high-end bikes in a dangerous manner and creating a ruckus on New Year’s eve. On January 1, a video was circulated on WhatsApp showing a group of bikers dragging barricades on Kamarajar Salai and Gandhi Mandapam Road. After the video went viral, the police registered a case under various sections of the IPC, TNPPDL Act (causing damage to public property) and the Motor Vehicles Act. The Anna Salai police registered a separate case and searched for the youth who had indulged in similar acts on Gandhi Mandapam Road. They were arrested and let off on bail with a warning.
