The English Premier League (EPL) will this 2023-2024 season promote Egypt as a travel destination as part of the North African country’s efforts to attract more holidaymakers. The Egyptian General Authority for Tourism (EGAT) will run two-minute commercials on big electronic screens in various stadiums hosting EPL games, “Ahram Online” reports. The EGAT plans to propose different offerings by capitalizing on the English Premier League’s enormous viewership. Egypt welcomed during H1 of this year more than six million tourists and the country expects to clock 15 million in 2023, a figure which would surpass the 14.7 million record set in 2010. In addition, the country also extended the visa duration from a one-month allowance to three months for yacht tourists and simplified visa application procedures online.
